| Here are some nice pictures of ghent. The Graslei, one of the nicest streets of Ghent, looks down on the river the Leie on the spot were in the Middleages used to be the Harbour of the City. U can find Gildehouses, some from the 12 th century. Ghent is of course the place if you want to photograph some nice old Buildings. Also some pictures of the St.Baafs Cathedral in Gent.
The building of this Gothic Church started in 1200, and lasted several hundreds of years. Emperor Karel was baptised in 1500 in this Cathedral. Also pictures of the Sint-Nicolaas Church, build in the 13 th and 14 th Century, a classic example of the Schelde-Gothic . The from the 13 th and 14 th century Belfry, is 91 meters high, with on top a Dragon of Copper. It stands against the Lakenhalle from the 15 th century. The "Gravensteen", parts of this unique Burcht from the Count of Vlaanderen, are from the 11 th century. In the 20th century the building was restored.
