Castle Doorwerth was known under the name castle Dorenweerd in early days. The Castle is from 1260 and was made out of wood then! This burned down and in 1280 the name of the castle was mentioned again in books, made out of stone this time. Adress castle Doorwerth: Fonteinallee 2, 6865 ND in Doorwerth, telephone: 026-3397406. Prizes: Adults 8,00 Euro, Kids till 12 year 4,50 euro. Openinghours April till November: Tuesdays till Sundays 1300-1700 Hour, guided tours on appointment.
